Fashion Week Favourites: Altuzarra

Joseph Altuzarra took NYFW by storm when he unveiled his urban-jungle collection last Saturday. One of the main themes was the re-occuring fetish style, with leather featuring heavily throughout the show- leather dresses, leather jackets, leather skirts, leather panelling and again, leather harnesses to contrast with the femininity that is so obligatory for Spring.

But the dominant theme was luxe-sportswear, with more than a nod to comfort- baseball-style tops made stylish by being sheer, a jumper which looked almost golf-worthy. The variety of jackets on show were particularly desirable- from the sheer white anorak to the glossy leather blazer to the sleeveless blanket coat- Altuzarra has really struck gold with his outerwear designs.

The monochrome effect was especially impressive, accentuating the diversity between the urban allure of the clothes and the jungle-style backdrop. But Altuzarra also picked up on the snow-balling print trend with a Hawaiian themed, gaudy jumpsuit, trousers and dress combination. The print merged effortlessly with the both the urbanity and the jungle feel and really brought the collection together.

Perhaps my favourite part of the show was the models' look- peeking behind powerfully slicked-back hair were some serious statement eyebrows, which complemented the collection perfectly.

My favourite looks from the Altuzarra show:
