Instead of your traditional, run-of-the-mill catwalk show, Chloe Sevigny's capsule collection for Opening Ceremony debuted at New York Fashion Week in the form of a protest. Sevigny lined up cool female musicians including Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth and Lissy Trullie to perch alongside her models while she stood, silently, with a placard screaming TIME FOR SEX. Not entirely sure what she was protesting but nevertheless, Sevigny made a statement. The protest theme harked back to the 60's, as did many of the pieces- A-line hemlines, pastel prints, babydoll dresses, gingham and mary-janes. The swinging 60's theme merged seamlessly with Sevigny's rock n roll connections- leather shoes, slicked back hair, rucksacks and houndstooth print. As for the lookbook, Sevigny modelled it entirely herself, playing dress-up as both male and female.
